About Us
The Sowa Rigpa Forum is a conference dedicated to the careful study and lived understanding of yoga, breath, and meditation within the context of Tibetan medicine.
Rooted in the experiential knowledge of yoginis and yogis, the forum offers a space for learning, dialogue, and reflection on therapeutic approaches that respect tradition while engaging with contemporary needs.
Find your inner fire and stillness in Viljandi, Estonia
With its long winter seasons and quiet landscapes, Estonia offers a natural setting for inquiry into practices such as Tummo yoga; traditions that cultivate inner warmth, clarity, and capacity for transforming emotional resistance into embodied insight.
Therapeutic Yogic Practices Presented in the 2026 Forum
Healing Yoga refers to the use of yogic movement as a supportive and restorative practice within therapeutic contexts.
During the forum, sessions explore how posture, breath, and attention may be adapted to support balance, recovery, and resilience, with respect for individual capacity.
Healing Yoga is presented as a grounding foundation that complements more specialized practices such as Nejang and Tummo, with an emphasis on simplicity, stability, and continuity rather than complexity or performance.
Healing Yoga
Tummo Yoga (གཏུམ་མོ་)
Tummo Yoga is a Vajrayāna completion-stage practice that cultivates inner heat through the coordinated use of breath, posture, and focused awareness.
Transmitted through traditions such as the Six Yogas of Naropa and the Kalachakra system, Tummo is traditionally practiced within a disciplined meditative framework to support vitality, balance, and the transformation of mental and emotional states.
Within the forum, Tummo is presented in its broader contemplative context, emphasizing gradual development, containment, and understanding rather than intensive or complete practice transmission.
Nejang Yoga (གནས་སྦྱངས་)
Nejang is a gentle healing yoga practice composed of twenty-four simple movements that combine breath, self-massage, and mindful attention.
As a therapeutic system within Tibetan medicine, these practices support circulation, organ health, and energetic balance while calming the mind and opening the channels.
Rooted in the Kalachakra tradition and prescribed by Tibetan physicians for centuries, Nejang is presented in the forum through established texts and publications, including work published in Estonia, offering practical insight into its application as a daily therapeutic support.
